DIY: Free Printable Frame for Dia de Muertos
Check out this colorful frame (free printable) and use it to decorate your Day of the Dead altar or ofrenda in a special way.
The day after Halloween, many people in Mexico and other places create altars in their homes to celebrate Día de los Muertos. It's a cherished celebration where we honor and remember our loved ones who have passed away—one of my favorite traditions.
I've always cherished the time spent with my family, crafting the altar together, creating papel picado, arranging marigold flowers, candles, sugar skulls, and other meaningful items, all while sharing stories and looking at old pictures.
Yesterday, I took a moment to sketch out an idea for something special I want to create for this year's altar. I wanted to decorate my grandpa’s picture and create a colorful picture frame around it.
You could certainly do something similar by drawing your design using black ink and then coloring with markers inside the lines.
I made a digital version later and turned out a bit different, and I wanted to share it with you in case you would like to add it into your Dia de Muertos decorations as well.
*Please only use these frames for personal use. Thanks!

Decorating my pictures for Day of the Dead will become a heartfelt tradition that will honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. Each photograph serves as a cherished connection to those we hold dear, capturing their essence and spirit.
