DIY: Beaded Sunglasses

Create these fun colorful sunglasses using some tiny glass beads. They look so creative and fun!

My baby sister is visiting us in California. We are having so much fun touring nearby towns, especially now that days are getting sunnier and more summery.

The other day we went shopping and found a pair of sunglasses that we really like. The shape was great, but we felt like they needed something extra, a special touch, and because we love creative projects we decided to add some color ourselves!

The idea was to glue some glass beads to personalize them a little bit. I picked colorful glass beads, my sister went for golden beads, and they look amazing!

Would you like to make some? It was so easy, and they are the perfect complement to your summery outfits. check out the tutorial below:

MATERIALS:

  • A pair of sunglasses, preferably with a medium size frame.

  • Jewelry beads

  • Super Glue

  • Tweezers

How to make beaded sunglasses:

  1. Prepare your workspace and sunglasses. Before you start adding the beads, clean the surface of your sunglasses using a dry cloth to remove any oils or dust.

We also put a piece of newspaper on the table to avoid making a mess with the glue.

  2. Glue the glass beads in your sunglasses. Apply a drop of super glue on the sunglasses and add each bead one by one around the frame of the sunglasses.

Don’t try to add too much superglue at once because it will dry and will look messy! Basically you will need to add one drop of super glue and one bead until you cover your sunglasses frame completely.

We created a simple design by filling the corners of the sunglasses frame as well.

TIP:

Use some tweezers or some small pliers to place the beads one by one and so you don’t get your fingers full of super glue.

  1. Let the sunglasses dry. Wait at least a full day until the super glue is completely dry so you can start wearing your glasses.

Now your creative sunglasses are ready and you can start wearing them this summer! aren’t these fun?
