Flower crowns are awesome and look adorable! They are a unique fashion accessory and add a fun touch to any outfit you wear for a special occasion.

A recent event inspired us to make one. We wanted to use durable materials so we could store the flower crown in the closet and use it in the future. We bought some artificial silk flowers and added our own colorful touch using pompoms and ribbons.

Check out the video below (start at minute 5:02) to see how we made this flower crown:

How to Make a Flower Crown:

  1. Measure around your head. Cut the floral wire the size of the measurement you got from your head and add 2 inches on each side to wrap the crown and close the circle by wrapping the edges as many times as possible.

  2. Start tangling the artificial flowers around the floral wire. Arrange the flowers on the front of the crown.

  3. When you are happy with the way the flowers look, tangle floral green tape around the whole crown to cover the floral wire and the wire from the artificial flowers.

  4. Now add ribbons in the back! When you finish, cut some pieces of ribbons to your desired length. Leave a few longer than others for a playful and relaxed look.

  5. Glue some small pom poms in the back. You could also sew them on top of the ribbons for a fun touch.

Your summer outfits will never be boring if you wear this colorful accessory!

We recently shared another great DIY idea, a Braided Fabric Head Wrap that is also a perfect accessory for your summery outfits.
