It’s official, Christmas is only a couple of days away, but that shouldn’t make us feel like we can’t get our hands a little dirty and create an extra pair of adorable last minute decorations to fill all those empty spaces that drive us crazy on the Christmas tree.

This is a project that I created for Mod Podge Rocks Blog, so you can check it out here too.

MATERIALS:

How to Make Decoupaged Paper Ornaments for Christmas

  1. Download the printable.

Download the printable here or here and print as many pages you need to create the ornaments. Each page creates one ornament. Use different colors of cardstock so your ornaments match your holiday decorations. You can use white cardstock as well if you want your ornaments to be white as snow, which is also a cute idea if you have a green Christmas tree.

2. Cut the ornaments.

Cut the ornaments following the lines in the printable.

3. Fold each side of the ornament.

Fold your ornaments along the printed lines keeping the printed lines inside of the ornament shape.

4. Cut small strips of ribbon.

Cut small strips of ribbon, to be able to hang your ornaments later, and make a fat knot at the end.

5. Use the Mod Podge to glue all the sides.

Glue all the sides of your ornaments using Mod Podge. Before you close the paper ornaments completely, add the ribbon inside the ornaments to be able to hang them on the Christmas tree. Press all the sides firmly for a couple of seconds until they are completely glued together.

6. Personalized your ornaments.

I am obsessed with personalized ornaments with pictures, it’s amazing being able to see our favorite memories hanging from the Christmas tree! If you feel the same way, cut some family pictures in a triangular shape and glue them to the ornaments. You can also add some glitter to the cardstock as a special and joyful detail.

Apply an extra layer of modpodge on top of the pictures to make sure they stay in place.

These paper ornaments would make an adorable in a garland as well.

Happy and colorful Holidays!
